2009 is the 150th anniversary of the beginnings of what we now know as Christchurch City Libraries. Many interesting and exciting developments have taken place since the first years of the Mechanic’s Institute to the present 21 branches with over 300,000 members. This blog has been developed to bring the stories of this institution to an interactive forum. If you are a current or former staff member or have associations with Christchurch City Libraries, we welcome you. Help us remember and celebrate this momentous occasion by sharing your thoughts and experiences with us.
